Why so much porn online?

Porn affiliates is a big part of the answer, the Wall Street Journal reports. They're easy-to-set-up small businesses that don't produce or sell pornography but rather operate multiple Web sites that display free porn images which link to porn retail sites in exchange for a percentage of the subscription sales they drive. More than porn retailers, these are also the kind of porn sites kids are mostly likely to stumble upon. "The lure of big bucks has saturated the Internet with affiliate sites - and, by extension, free porn," according to the Journal. "Now, there are so many free images and video clips that affiliate companies say it has grown more challenging to get users to sign up with pay sites." The Journal adds that "the fierce competition has led to something of a no-holds-barred atmosphere among some affiliates," resulting in huge porn-spam campaigns that have led to Federal Trade Commission lawsuits under the CAN-SPAM Act and other automated-distribution tactics. The number of affiliates is hard to come by, the Journal said, but they're all over the world, and the pay sites work hard to keep them happy, plying them with bonuses and gifts, such as the TAG Heuer watch just sent to an 18-year-old in Russia "who runs a handful of affiliate Web sites."

  1. ok I have a question. is this article trying to tell me how I can use porn retail sited or affiliated sites to squeez moolah out of the stock market??? cause thats what I initially thought in the first couple of sentances and if that were the case then that would be great.

  2. The article's about one reason why it's so easy for kids (or anyone) to stumble on porn, in case some parents are inclined to believe they've arrived at these sites on purpose. Of course, some kids are exploring adult content, but research shows that the vast majority are seeing online porn inadvertently. If parents overreact and ban kids' Net use, kids often find workarounds (e.g., surfing at friends' houses), which can lead to greater "risk," if this is the perspective one takes. Hope that clarifies,

  3. It`s simply a messed up world. To say that pictures of people having sex is harmless is ridiculous. Is rape harmless? Numerous studies have proven that a common denominator among serial rapists and frequently, serial murderers is an obsession with pornography.Getting "hung up" on images of young attractive women who are not ashamed to do anything has brought disaster to many a marriage. That IS a FACT.Is a thing that destroys marriages harmless? Parents DO need to be in controll of their kids internet activity,I agree.But.....;who is going to protect the parents? Nothing good,NOTHING,can possibly come from setting around and viewing pornography. Who cares enough about the children to take this crap away so that they can not possibly access it? Obviously and apparently,NO-ONE. That is the simple truth,NO-ONE cares enough to do anything about it. Mark these words, there is a generation growing up right now that not only has access to internet porn but also utilizes that access;when THAT generation comes of age the world WILL clearly see the "harmless" effects of "...lots of pictures of people having sex".It will not be pretty.

  4. This discussion evades finding a solution to protect children. Being a a staunch guardian of your child's internet time can be helpful but then there's the chance your child can go to his best friend's house and seek out adult material. What about turning off the internet and tv forever? Let them play outside, find better stimulating interests and if they need to do research, isn't that what libraries are for?
And this leads to the heart of the problem. Children are sexually mature at 13, even as as young as 10. What are alternatives are you giving them to explore their sexuality so they develop into healthy adults and not seek the internet for illicit, harmful material?

Porn is harmless... it's doesnt hurt anyone it doesnt kill anyone... to look at it to watch it... its in our human nature to watch it so all you that are saying oh dont watch it dont have sex... its human to have sex if God didnt want sex... he would have neva came up wit sex... but most of them in tha bibles where prostitutes... SEX ISNT HARMLESS! If sex is harmless to you or ur family then keep ur kids away from tha computer... thats ur resposibilty not anyone elses!
