ZDNET cites Microsoft's November security bulletin as saying. That loss of control could turn the family PC into a "zombie," a cog in the works of a porn spammer or an extortionist - not a pleasant thought, especially since it would be very hard to tell (sometimes zombie owners notice their computers have slowed down a bit, though).
